1: Algonquin College – Ottawa, Ontario

Algonquin College expanded its Ottawa campus in 2018 by opening its Discovery, Applied Research and Entrepreneurship district giving students access to state of cutting-edge technology and labs. In addition to their numerous diploma programs, Algonquin College offers collaborative degrees in partnership with the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Algonquin College is known for their work-integrated opportunities, allowing student experience in their field of study.

2: New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) – Moncton, New Brunswick 

Offering more than 90 diploma, certificate, and trades programs, the New Brunswick Community College is an excellent choice for students. The college has six campuses across New Brunswick including Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John. Popular programs include business administration, information technology and practical nursing. The college has recently started an applied research program and allowing students to focus on things like 3D printing and drone technology.

3: George Brown College

George Brown College has three main campuses all located in downtown Toronto, and offers more than 250 programs. The college has recently opened a new facility that includes a research hub and areas for hands-on learning such as operating rooms at the Health Sciences’ Simulation Centre and a working restaurant for the culinary students. By 2020, all programs offered at George Brown will have a field education component, giving students the opportunities to get first-hand experience.

4: Humber College

Humber College, located in Toronto, is one of Canada’s largest community colleges. One hidden gem of the college is the massive arboretum behind the North Toronto Campus with one of the most diverse ecosystems in Canada. This provides student an outdoor classroom and living laboratory for ecology and sustainability courses. Other popular and noteworthy programs include culinary management, public relations and industrial design.
